A residential homes group has been marking Shrove Tuesday with its elderly residents in the region.
Healthcare Homes’ Overbury House, in Norfolk, staged a special interactive celebratory event.
Both residents and staff took part in the activities, which included making and tasting a large quantity of pancakes, and recalling memories of Shrove Tuesday.
Gerard Dooley, Manager at Overbury House, said: “Our residents really appreciate, and benefit from, occasions where they can get into the spirit of particular celebrations.
“Shrove Tuesday is something which brings back memories for many, and so it was a wonderful opportunity for us to stage some interactive pancake fun at the home today.”
The activity is particularly pertinent for the group this year, as its collective residents throughout the UK have recently completed the creation of a cookbook – Cooking Up Memories – which is being sold in aid of charity.
Healthcare Homes has 35 residences throughout East Anglia and the south east and is no stranger to creating projects which inspire and energise its many residents across the group.
Other home activities include collaborations with toddler groups in the local community, running Dementia awareness groups in its properties, and partnering with Pets as Therapy to provide much appreciated animal visits to the various properties on a regular basis.
